The hostel has NO reception 🙂
Check-in time: 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM (no check-in after that time)
Check-out time: 8:30 AM – as booked
Arrival or luggage drop-off is NOT possible before 4:00 PM as we are preparing everything for you until then.
The door code will be available at 3:55 PM on your arrival day via Booking.com or Airbnb.
- The single room is on the first floor next to the kitchen.
- The double room is on the top floor to the left.
- The four-bed room is on the top floor to the right.
Each bed is labeled with your name.
When checking out, please close all windows, leave your towel on the bed, and hang the front door key on the hook (and close the door).
Please keep the kitchen and bathroom as clean as if you were returning in the evening. The other guests will thank you.
For two-night bookings, check-out is at 8:30 a.m. and check-in is from 4:00 p.m. onwards. Your luggage can remain at the hostel.
2. Registration Passport and data
According to Portuguese law, every guesthouse is required to register its
guests‘ data with the tourism authority. This includes information on their details, stay, and passport.
We complete this registration once online
- You will receive a link to BA DiRETO via your booking portal in advance—please make sure to fill this out no later than 11:00 a.m. on the day of arrival.
Anyone who does not complete the online form in advance will not be permitted to stay at the guesthouse. That is what Portuguese law says.
If you do not complete the required information online by 11:00 a.m. on your day of arrival, an alternative check-in option is available starting at 6:30 p.m. that same day. Consequently, check-in at 4:00 p.m. is NOT possible.

3. Opening the front door
There is a combination lock on the front door – hanging.
The combination is: [code to be inserted here].
Enter the numbers exactly in the line (turn the key).
Fold the cover down and take the key.
Use the key to unlock the front door.
Return the key to the key lock!
Close the cover and turn the numbers.
PLEASE text me IMMEDIATELY to let me know you have arrived!

4. Luggage transfer
Since our guesthouse has no reception and NO ONE is on site, NO luggage can be sent to the house. Therefore, please do not send luggage to the house to avoid unnecessary stress and inconvenience for everyone involved.
With Booking.com, you can cancel a booking within 3 hours if luggage transfer is important to you. You can send me a cancellation request within 8 hours of booking, which I will then cancel free of charge. After 8 hours, you will have received all the necessary information regarding your luggage, and the booking will be considered confirmed.
5. Bicycles in the house
Unfortunately, there is no space for your bicycles in the house, and with 7 people, it would be too cramped. You can see on Booking.com that there are NO bicycle storage spaces before booking.
Booking.com allows you to cancel a booking within 3 hours if luggage transfer is important to you. You can send me a cancellation request within 8 hours of booking, which I will then cancel free of charge. After 8 hours, you will have received all the necessary information regarding luggage, and the booking will be confirmed.
6. Cancellation / Date change
As previously announced, bookings CANNOT be cancelled, as we have different room occupancy models.
If a cancellation is requested up to 3 days before arrival, we will try to re-let the room. If a replacement booking is made by the original booking date, we will gladly cancel your booking. The same applies to changes to a different date. No changes are possible from 3 days before arrival! The same applies to date changes.

8. Important house rules
- NO toilet paper in the toilet
- Please do not cut food on the kitchen table (use a cutting board or mat).
- Please bring the rooftop terrace cushions inside in the evening.
- Please do not steal the last IKEA spoons.
- Please do not steal all the toilet paper.
- Since most guests prefer the larger bathroom, there may be waiting times depending on the number of guests. Therefore, please do not shower for too long or feel free to use the second shower.
9. Useful information
- IIn Vila do Bispo, there’s a laundromat near Lidl.
- Supermarkets in Vila do Bispo: Lidl & Aldi
- Raposeira has three restaurants: The Dan ( Thursday closed ) , Taquereria ( Monday closed ) and Rodrigues ( Sunday closed )
- All Raposeira restaurants are closed on Thursdays. !!!!
- Raposeira also has a good supermarket, SPAR.
- There’s a gravel road parallel to the main road to Raposeira; after about 200 meters on the main road, turn left.
10. Useful information about the house
- Clothes drying rack on the roof terrace
- The kitchen is equipped with spices, cookware, and a refrigerator.
- Feel free to bring your own coffee and groceries.
- Hairdryer in the upstairs bathroom – turn on the light switch for electricity.
- If it’s windy, there’s a wedge under the mirror on the shelf to prevent the door from rattling.

On the first floor you’ll find the living room, a small balcony, a dining room, a kitchen, a small shower, and a toilet.
On the top floor you’ll find the large bathroom and toilet, a roof terrace, and a clothes drying rack.

12. Front door key
Just take one house key here to go outside.

Of course, we also have earplugs available for our guests.
They cost €1 per pair.
Please order them from me via Booking or WhatsApp by 11:00 a.m. on the day of arrival.
15. Surfboard Rentals & Surf Report
We have an on-site rental shop offering a wide range of surfboards and SUPs. Feel free to drop by or ask us questions during our opening hours. Every guest can also receive the daily surf report upon request.
